About Me

I'm glad you found me! My name is Beth Battey and I have been teaching private and group music lessons since 2001 to students from preschool through adults. I teach mainly beginning and intermediate music students in piano, guitar, recorder, flute, clarinet, and cornet/trumpet. I specialize in helping beginning students get going on their chosen instruments be it a band instrument, piano, recorder, or guitar. Private or very small group (up to 4 students) lessons in knitting and crochet are also available.

You can find me in and around Ann Arbor teaching at the local libraries, local preschools, and daycare centers, as well as at SPUN - a wonderful yarn shop in Kerrytown.

Our family enjoys a variety of music and activities in the Ann Arbor area. We are members of AACTMAD (Ann Arbor Community for Traditional Music and Dance), Michigan Dance Heritage (MDH), and in the past have helped plan and organize the Cumberland Dance Week family dance camp.

In addition to music, I enjoy many crafts including knitting, crocheting, sewing, spinning, and weaving. I have two lovely girls and a little boy in the house all who both love music and meeting new people - they may ask you to play in the yard before or after your lesson.
