About Me

I'm glad you found me!  My name is Beth Battey and I have been teaching private music lessons since 2001 to students in kindergarten through adults.  I teach mainly beginning and intermediate music students in piano, guitar, recorder, flute, oboe, clarinet, and cornet/trumpet.  I specialize in helping beginning students get going on their chosen instruments be it a band instrument or piano or guitar.  Private or very small group (up to 4 students) lessons in knitting and crochet are also available.

Our family enjoys a variety of music and activities in the Ann Arbor area.  We are members of AACTMAD (Ann Arbor Council for Traditional Music and Dance), Michigan Dance Heritage (MDH), and in the past have helped plan and organize the Cumberland Dance Week family dance camp in Kentucky.

In addition to music, I enjoy many crafts including knitting, crocheting, sewing, spinning, and weaving.  I have two lovely girls and a little boy in the house all who both love music and meeting new people - they may ask you to play in the yard before or after your lesson.
